Flood Relief Campaign by Ajantrik
"Ajantrik"- Social Welfare and Cultural Club of NITMAS and TNU initiated a FLOOD RELIEF CAMPAIGN in assiciation with "Nabadiganta"-a Non-Governmental Organization to reach flood strike areas, rescue people and uplift their survival chances. A commendable gesture, the Club is extremely active and is run by dedicated, disciplined and capable members.
The news has widely spread across the map of NORTH BENGAL affected by the extreme flooding due to the continuous rain. The areas that have been primarily affected are maldha, south and north dinajpur. Houses are submerged into water, several houses and bridges have collapsed, transportation are still arrested due to the wraths of the flood, numerous citizens being washed away by the merciless flood.The students started off from University Campus on 24th of August, 2017 and reached their first destination point, Samsi, India, on 25th of August, 2017 to rescue the victimized citizens of North Bengal. The village they visited, most of the portion was submerged in water, people were stuck up in houses, taking shelter in higher platforms, and most lost their houses, taking refuge on the nearby areas. The team personally visited and conversed with over two hundred families knowing about their miseries and helped them with Food and Clothes.The country is in need for such youngsters. This success was not possible without the innitiative of Club AJANTRIK members, the faculties and staff of our Institute.
71st Independence Day celebration at NITMAS and TNU Campus
Neotia Instiute of Technology, Management and Science (NITMAS) and The Neotia University (TNU) celebrates the 71st Independence Day of our Nation in a grand manner to honour the country's rich and cultural heritage, at its campus on 15th August,2017 from 8 AM.
The National Flag was hoisted by honerable Vice Chancellor, TNU in the presence of Principal-NITMAS, Director-SOMS,TNU, All departmental HODs, staff, faculty and students. This was followed by an excellent March Past organized by the Marine Engineering and BNS Cadets where the Vice Chancellor and Director-SOMS jointly took the salute. Then, the Vice Chancellor addressed to all present for the Programme, where he called upon all to serve the nation, be patriotic and perform their duties and pursue their profession with dedication, honesty and discipline.Lastly, a patriotic song, recitation and speech were performed by the students. All faculty, staff members and students participated in the celebration enthusiastically. This function ended with the National Anthem and Sweet Distribution.
NITMAS and TNU organised a cornerstone Workshop on "Solid Works and Water Rocketry", in Association with the Space Technology Student's Society of IIT Kharagpur
NITMAS and TNU organised a cornerstone Workshop on Solid Works and Water Rocketry, a first of its kind, on Campus on 12th August, 2017 at The Seminar Hall. Over 60 students, staff and faculty members attended the workshop.The Workshop was conducted in Association with the Space Technology Student's Society of IIT Kharagpur. Members of the Society visited the Campus and made several unique and informative audio- visual presentations on the subject, which was deeply appreciated by the attending Student's.The students were taken through detailed presentations on 3-Dimensional Rocket Designing, Basic Principles of Rocketry, Designing of Bottle Rockets, and a practical hands-on practical experience of Rocket launching which was a unique experience for all.The response to the workshop was excellent and the students were considerably richer by way of knowledge and experience.
One day Symposium on "Establishing Continuity Between School and Higher Education"
Neotia Institute of Technology, Management and Science (NITMAS) and The Neotia University (TNU) jointly organised Symposium on “Establishing Continuity Between School and Higher Education” on 29th July Saturday at the Institutional Multipurpose Hall. The session was chaired by Mr. Suhas Mukherjee, Head HR & Administration, The Neotia University. Plenary talks were delivered by Dr. A. S. Kolaskar, Honerable Vice Chancellor, The Neotia University and Dr. Sujoy Biswas, Principal, Neotia Institute of Technology, Management and Science. Then presentation session started and finally there was an interaction session between the participants and delegates. Over 200 High School Principals and Teachers were participated the symposium and made the program successful.
Orientation Programme 2017
Neotia Institute of technology, management and science (NITMAS) & The Neotia University (TNU) jointly organize “Orientation Pragramme” for the first year students every year. The objective of the programme is to formally welcome the newly arrived students to Neotia Institute of technology, management and science (NITMAS) & The Neotia University (TNU) family and assist them in starting their academic journey. This year Neotia Institute of technology, management and science (NITMAS) & The Neotia University organized the “Orientation Programme” for parents and students of first year on 25th & 26th July 2017 at Multipurpose Hall.
The Orientation Programme is designed to facilitate the academic, cultural and social adjustment of the first year commencing students. The programme activities are linked to the key strategic goals of the institution, namely enhancing the Student Experience, developing excellence in learning and teaching, and encouraging participation of students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. The programme started with Introduction & Welcome by Dr.Rajeev Verma, Registrar – The Neotia University followed by message from Veda. In the First session, Swami Prananandji Maharaj, President Sri Ramkrishna Mission, Sarisha addressed the audience. Dr.Sujoy Biswas, Acting Principal of NITMAS delivered a brief introduction about NITMAS. Then Prof.A.S.Kolaskar, Vice Chancellor, The Neotia University addressed the gathering. Prof. Damodar Acharya, Former Chairman AICTE & Former Director IIT KGP, was the chief guest of the program delivered his valuable lecture to the fresher. The first session ends with a nice presentation from Mr. Hari Ramasubramanian, GMU Lead (Growth Market Unit), IBM Systems University Business Development and Ecosystem. In the next three sessions students were introduced with various academic departments along with training and placement opportunities. Students were informed about the anti ragging activities in the institute by Mr.Amitava Banerjee, Director SOMS. Finally students get introduced with various extracurricular activities, sports facilities etc. by Mr.Neilesh Chakravarthy.
