One day Seminar on "Bridge the gap between School education and Higher Studies in India", organized by ‘The Neotia University’ and ‘Neotia Institute of Technology, Management and Science’ held on 16th September, 2017 (Saturday) at Regal Guest House, Mechada.HMs, AHMs and Assistant Teachers from various Schools registered for the Seminar and actively participated in the interaction session responding to our call to come together in making West Bengal a high seat of learning, like always.

The seminar started with lighting of lamp by the hon’ble Vice Chancellor of TNU Prof. A. S. Kolaskar, the Registrar of TNU Dr. Rajeev Verma, the Principal of NITMAS Dr. Sujay Biswas and the Head HR & Administration Mr. Suhas Mukherjee. Dr. Debajyoti De presented the welcome note. Prof. A. S. Kolaskar addressed the gathering and shared his huge experience in the field of academics with delegates regarding establishing continuity between school and higher education. Dr. Sujay Biswas presented a lecture on creating awareness among the school students regarding courses of cutting edge technology and research. The seminar continued with the lectures by Mr. Neilesh Chakravartee and Mr. Gopal Debnath regarding the vision and mission of TNU and NITMAS and Campus facilities. Delegates enjoyed the interactive session with Mr. Suhas Mukherjee mostly. In that session the delegates came out with proposals that how TNU and NITMAS can reach the rural students and create awareness regarding versatile career prospects according to the necessity of modern days.

Freshers' Welcome "ABHIGRAHA-2017"

 

"ABHIGRAHA 2K17", the Annual Freshers welcome program,held on NITMAS and TNU campus on 15th September 2017. The program started with an interactive presentation by AKANTRIK, E-Cell & Entrepreneurship Club. The Freshers got an opportunity to interact with their Seniors, which was thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable. A Selfie-Clicking Counter with props was set up by the E-Cell likened things up. This was followed by an excellently organised Cultural Program comprising Slam Poetry, Dances, Skit and Street play, Rock Band Performances, Group Songs and other performances that kept the audience enthralled and captivating. The program was deeply appreciated and loved by our Freshers.

Teachers' Day celebration at NITMAS

 

The students of NITMAS & TNU combined to put up a heart warming and beautiful programme on the occasion of Teacher's Day on Campus on 5th September, 2017. Initiative was taken by the Third Years of all Streams, ably supported by the other years as well. The Programme aimed to thank all teachers for their significant contribution to the lives and careers of students.

The Programmes were held Department wise in the respective scholastic buildings. Students of individual Departments conducted thanksgiving speeches, songs, dance and music, and skits and dramas. Several teachers spoke on the occasion too. Ceremonial cakes were cut , and a special lunch was organised for all teachers by students, where the Students served their teachers themselves. A beautiful and memorable day.

Workshop on "ROS ROBOTICS AND MACHINE LEARNING"

Neotia Institue of Technology, Management and Science (NITMAS) and The Neotia University (TNU) organised a Workshop on " ROS ROBOTICS AND MACHINE LEARNING" on 25th August 2017 at Campus .Over 100 Students and Faculty members attended the Programme.

Mr. Anirban Ghatak, who has longstanding and significant Industry experience in leading Information Technology (IT) and Software Firms like Cognizant Technology Solutions, T-System and Wipro, holds a PMP from PMI, U.S.A., was the eminent speaker.

The programme was inaugurated by honourable Vice Chancellor of TNU, Prof. Ashok Kollaskar, and the speaker was felicitated by Registrar-TNU, Dr. Rajeev Verma. Mr. Anirban Ghatak then held an extremely informative and enlightening audio- visual presentation on ROS and Machine Learning, underlining theoritical and practical applications, its scope and industry opportunities. ROS (Robot Operating System) is an application like Google or Android which can be freely downloaded and used. In an age where the application of Robots are existent right from household appliances to cars and aircrafts, this unique and groundbreaking application acts as an interphase between Harware Robot and Software Operating System. Similarly, Machine Learning deals with the streamlining and management of Big Data, and analysis of the same.

The Students enjoyed the presentation and the interactive session and asked several intelligent and pertinent questions.

Flood Relief Campaign by Ajantrik

"Ajantrik"- Social Welfare and Cultural Club of NITMAS and TNU initiated a FLOOD RELIEF CAMPAIGN in assiciation with "Nabadiganta"-a Non-Governmental Organization to reach flood strike areas, rescue people and uplift their survival chances. A commendable gesture, the Club is extremely active and is run by dedicated, disciplined and capable members.

 

The news has widely spread across the map of NORTH BENGAL affected by the extreme flooding due to the continuous rain. The areas that have been primarily affected are maldha, south and north dinajpur. Houses are submerged into water, several houses and bridges have collapsed, transportation are still arrested due to the wraths of the flood, numerous citizens being washed away by the merciless flood.The students started off from University Campus on 24th of August, 2017 and reached their first destination point, Samsi, India, on 25th of August, 2017 to rescue the victimized citizens of North Bengal.  The village they visited, most of the portion was submerged in water, people were stuck up in houses, taking shelter in higher platforms, and most lost their houses, taking refuge on the nearby areas. The team personally visited and conversed with over two hundred families knowing about their miseries and helped them with Food and Clothes.The country is in need for such youngsters. This success was not possible without the innitiative of Club AJANTRIK members, the faculties and staff of our Institute.
